Dr. Travis Cox Explores Philosophies of Sustainability
Dr. Travis Cox held a talk in the MUM Sustainable Living Center in conjunction with Doug Tuers of Green Iowa AmeriCorps, where he talked about different philosophical concepts that relate to sustainability. This talk comes straight out of his Philosophies of Sustainability class, and he covers philosophers such as Andres Edwards, Aldo Leopold, Jerry Mander, Joel Kovel, Gregory Bateson and Christopher Uhl. Dr. Cox ties their ideas, as well as his own, to philosophical concepts that were brought out by MUM’s founder, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and connects them to deeper perspectives of sustainability.
