International Checklist MA in Consciousness and Human Potential Intern

Thank you for submitting your application to Maharishi International University.

Please read all the items on the checklist below carefully. The application materials are listed in order of importance. For fastest processing, we recommend that you follow this order as much as possible when you submit your documents and forms.

All forms and documents should be sent to admisdoc@miu.edu or to your admission counselor’s email address.

Once all the documents have been received by our Admissions Office, a telephone interview will be scheduled.

Step 1 — Documents and Forms for Admission Evaluation

An official transcript is a copy of your grade report (and a diploma in certain cases) issued or attested by your undergraduate school. Official transcripts should bear the original stamp and signature of a school official and be placed in an envelope and sealed by a school officer.

If your school does not issue an official transcript (i.e., when the school issues only one copy of the original transcript upon graduation), you can look for an educational organization that provides attestation services in your country.

If you are required in your country to take a university entrance exam, please send that report to us along with your transcripts.

All transcripts or diplomas that are not in English must be accompanied by an official translation into English.

Original transcripts are not needed for Admission.

A paper copy of your official transcripts in a closed envelope should be sent via post to:

International applicants must submit official English proficiency test scores within the past 2 years of at least 110 on Duolingo, 6.5 on IELTS Academic, 90 on TOEFL iBT or 58 on PTE.

Two of your teachers, professors or supervisors, who have taught you or have supervised your work within the past two years must submit the online recommendation form. Ask them to fill and submit the recommendation form, after providing them your name, e-mail address, and Application ID. If you do not know someone who meets this requirement, contact your admissions counselor to discuss your options.

There are two essays required for this program.

The first essay is required for applicants to online master’s degree programs. See the essay page.

The second essay is required by the Maharishi Vedic Science department:

Read the two sections (3 pages) in The Science of Being and Art of Living by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi What is Being? and Being is the Essential Constituent of Creation. In 700-800 words, respond to the following: “Discuss Maharishi’s description of the nature of Being as the essential constituent of creation.” This should be double-spaced in Times New Roman 12 pt font. We recommend that applicants purchase the book, but you may also view and download the relevant pages.

E-mail your complete résumé (curriculum vitae) to your admissions counselor. Your résumé must include the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Email address
  • Date of birth
  • Your educational history, including city and country of all post-secondary institutions you have attended, years attended, major or specializations and degrees awarded

As part of your application procedure, you are required to provide to the U.S. Embassy, as well as to the University, a recent bank statement (issued within the past month) showing that you have $500 funds required for emergency expenses.

If you do not have a recent bank statement, an official bank letter typed on bank letterhead is also acceptable. The bank letter must include: the current available balance and recent account activity, the bank’s contact details, and a signature from a bank official.

Financial verification must be presented with assets in cash only.

Photocopy the page of your passport that contains your photograph and identity information. E-mail a scanned version of this document (use JPG format only) to your admissions counselor.
