What is there to do in Fairfield? More than you might expect! One thing we love about our town is the plethora of parks located within just a few miles of MIU campus. For our second episode of Fun in Fairfield, we visited several of our favorite parks to give you a firsthand lookat these beautiful areas.

Fairfield is well-known for its easy access to nature. In addition to the Loop Trail, an 15.9 mile long stretch of walking/biking trail around the city, we have many parks, including:

  • Howard Park, located near the square and home to the bi-weekly Farmers’ Market
  • Jefferson County Park, a large park with many trails, camping areas, and cabins
  • O. B. Nelson Park, which includes baseball diamonds, a skate park, and a fenced-in dog park
  • Chataqua Park, with a beautiful, paved walking path that connects to the Loop Trail
  • Waterworks Park, home to the reservoir and only a short walk from campus!

We visit these parks – and more – in the video included in this post. Just hit play and see what’s waiting for you here in Fairfield!
