Taylor Irezumi is a woman of many talents – modeling, writing, and visual art, to name just a few.

Taylor hails from St. Louis, Missouri, and is currently double-majoring in Art and Creative Writing. Her artwork and writing have been featured in Dirty Chai Magazine, Crab Fat Magazine, and Storm Cellar Magazine. She is also a founding member of Soapbox Speakeasy, a Fairfield poetry performance staple. Now, she is among the top contenders in an  international modeling competition.

Taylor is also passionate about social justice issues and hopes to use her career to inspire those who have felt “less-than” due to mainstream beauty standards. At 5’4″, she is well below the typical height requirement for modeling – but she has not let that stop her from aiming high in her career. Taylor says that:

“I want to prove that a girl who has faced discrimination, disability, isolation, and who doesn’t have ‘the perfect body’ can be seen as a beautiful model. I want to inspire girls all around the world. I want to break the mold of the beauty standard. Everyone is entitled to their dreams; regardless of race, gender, orientation, ability, class, or physical attributes. We can’t control these things. But we can control who we want to be a role model.”

At the time of this article, Taylor was at 1st place in the Miss Jetset competition, so it is easy to see that her dream is becoming a reality. You can vote for Taylor in the Miss Jetset competition at their website and see examples of her work in the gallery below. Look forward to seeing a lot more in the future from this dynamic woman!
