003Where are you from and what brought you here to the David Lynch MA in film program?

I’m a Brazilian filmmaker and I came here because I was looking for a desert island in order to create. A place where I could be 100% connected to myself while developing my film project. Here, I would be far from my land and I’d would use David Lynch’s techniques to dive into deep waters in ourselves to search for what I was going to write about. I won an award from my short film ‘Halloween’ and as a big deal because David Lynch saw it and he liked it. That kind of thing makes you feel good and believe in yourself.

006How are you liking the David Lynch MA in film program?

The Program is focused in getting the best out of yourself and out of an idea you want to develop. I feel I’m a better filmmaker now, I lost the fears I had before. I’ve met very interesting people from all over the world and I feel like I’ve acquired 5 years of life experience!

Are there any teachers who had a particularly strong influence in your studies here so far?

Indeed, our teachers Roger Wolfson, Anthony Meindl and Dara Marks – those are the guys who made all difference. They cleared my mind and made the path to my movie smooth.

001What is your David Lynch MA thesis film about?

About a woman, Lucy, who thinks she might be turning into a vampire.

What does your future hold?

As David said to our class, “Your future holds success.”
