Ravi performing at Cafe Paradiso’s Open Mic

Recently, I got to talk to Ravi Both after interviewing his wife, Amy Spitzfaden, a month ago. They both work for Amy’s mother’s company, PSCS, Inc., located in Peterborough, New Hampshire. PSCS helps periodical and book  publishers increase their sales both online and in retail. The company has all TM-Sidha and meditator employees, and among other projects, is focusing on how to grow their TM community.

Ravi knows a little about this, having grown up in a Sidha community of a few hundred people in Lelystad, Holland.

At PSCS, Ravi’s job, in addition to being a jack-of-all-trades, is online marketing specialist. Right now, he’s working on updating the company website to emphasize its search engine optimization services for online magazines.
He also helps other content publishers expand their online presence through their websites and social media engagements. And, somehow, Ravi is also putting about 80% of his work time into a new project to help the company expand.
Ravi is a guy with several deep passions, but lives within the same 24-hour day as the rest of us. He loves music and used to play in bands, including one at MIU. He hopes to get back to that someday and write original songs. At the top of his free time list these days is designing a small house for Amy and himself on her parents’ property.
Reflecting back on his time at MIU, Ravi says, “If I had to name what I value most from my education at MIU, it’s the importance of keeping a holistic view. This might sound like a sound bite, but it truly applies to everything in our lives, because everything is an expression of the transcendent.”

Amy and Ravi

Ravi says he learned to always look at the big picture, even if it isn’t the main focus. “When you look at the whole, you see the similarity of the parts and how they fit together, like fractals.”

Ravi shared an example from the optimization consulting he does for PSCS. “Once individuals see the big picture, they find ways to do their jobs better–adjust one process, drop another, and, of course, communicate better.”
Ravi has an eye on the big picture of attracting more Sidhas and meditators to their community. He plans to eventually build more small houses on the Spitzfaden’s land. He would love to see it become a community project—using everyone’s skills to create organic gardens, community rooms, and daycare.
