Overview

Yoga is much more than a program of physical exercise and postures. It is the experience of Unity — the union of individual awareness with the infinite creativity and intelligence that lies deep within us all.

This four-lesson course explores Yoga philosophy in the light of Maharishi’s lectures and his commentaries on the ancient Yoga texts. It begins with an examination of Yoga as the experience of the inner Self and the subsequent unfolding of higher states of human consciousness; in this light it also considers Dharma — Natural Law — and how the experience of Yoga enables one to live more in accord with one’s own natural tendencies, which guide life toward success and happiness, and ultimately to perfection in higher states of consciousness.

The final lessons examine misconceptions and misunderstandings about Yoga philosophy, as found in modern Yoga practices and the writings of scholars over the last few hundred years. The course concludes with a consideration of Maharishi’s comments on different types of Yoga, such as Karma Yoga, Gyan Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga, and an in-depth analysis of Ashtanga Yoga. Each lesson includes lectures by Maharishi.

Course Structure

Each lesson has 3 or 4 videos approximately 15 to 20 minutes each. Once you register, you have access to the course for six months to one year.
