Ayurvedic Cooking for Pitta Dosha Course

Online Self-Study Course: This course is presented in a fun cooking show format with over four hours of videos and a 32-page downloadable cookbook. The lessons include cooking demonstrations as well as interviews and discussions with Ayurvedic experts.

Course Leaders: Sankari Wegman, PhD hosts featured Ayurvedic chefs.

Prerequisites: Ayurvedic Cooking for Perfect Health is recommended.

Course Description

Maharishi AyurVeda® is a holistic system of health and healing. Utilizing the laws of nature, it aims to create health and balance in the mind and body. Pitta dosha is one of the three Ayurvedic principles found in the body. In this 5-lesson course, you will learn:

  • What the best foods are to balance Pitta and how to combine them into wholesome, satisfying meals.
  • How to keep Pitta dosha cool in the summer with food and lifestyle tips.
  • The healthiest ingredients and cooking methods according to Ayurveda.
  • How to prepare Ayurvedic basics such as ghee, panir, and lassi.
  • The healing properties of spices and how to make your own Pitta-pacifying spice mixes.
  • How to adjust your diet to the seasons and times of the day to maximize your body’s natural rhythms.

Dr. Tony Nader

Sankari Wegman, PhD

Sankari Wegman, PhD is Assistant Professor, College of Integrative Medicine, at Maharishi International University.

Sankari has a life-long interest in empowering people to live their optimal health. She has a PhD in Maharishi Ayurveda and Integrative Medicine from MIU and has been a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation program for 20 years. She is also on the Board of Trustees at the Maharishi School and gives lectures on Ayurveda at universities and high schools throughout the country.
