The first class that all new MBA students at Maharishi International University take is the Science of Creative Intelligence (SCI). SCI consists of 33 lessons from Maharishi and lays a intellectual and experiential foundation for all other classes at MIU. The main objective of the course is to help students both understand and experience consciousness the “source of the thinking process,” and therefore as a profound basis for all understanding all academic disciplines.   In addition to discussions and videotapes on these principles, the new students are also taught how to practice the Transcendental Meditation® program.

Within the new MBA class of 2015, there are students from Pakistan, the Philippines, Ethiopia, China, and Nepal. When asked how they had heard about MIU most people said that they had a friend or relative who had recommended the University. One student shared that he was inspired by his sister and her husband (both accounting professional graduates). “They’re so calm, so peaceful. That’s why I was eager to learn TM,” he said.

Two other students were already certified professional accountants (CPA’s), but had received such a strong recommendation for the program, that they decided to join. Part of what makes the accounting professional track at MIU unique is the curricular practical training component. Not only does this ensure that students are fully prepared to conquer the real world once they graduate but it also helps them connect with employers.

Students find that the knowledge taught in SCI enables them to connect with the source of all thoughts. It is within this stillness, that the MBA’s are able to find creative solutions to the toughest business problems.
