Maharishi’s Commentary on Chapter Eight of the Bhagavad-Gītā

REGISTER

The very best of many great courses I have taken in over 40 years. —JS

This 10-lesson course is now available online. It was held Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 7:45 – 9:15, September 4 – October 4, 2018 in Dalby Hall. It is a video course by Professor Tony Nader, MD, PhD and includes videos of discussions from MUM which were led by Professor William Sands and Professor Tom Egenes.

The Bhagavad-Gita presents the science of life and the art of living. It teaches how to be, how to think, and how to do. Its technique of glorifying every aspect of life through contact with inner Being is like watering the root and making the whole tree green. It surpasses any practical wisdom of life ever cherished by human society.
—Maharishi, 1967

Course Description

For many years we have enjoyed the first six chapters of Maharishi’s commentary on the Bhagavad-Gītā, while the commentaries on the later chapters have been quietly waiting. Now Professor Nader has recently brought out Chapter Seven and is currently bringing out Chapter Eight in this beautiful videotaped course.

The study of each verse consists of:

  • A recitation by Maharishi Vedic Pandits
  • A reading of the verse and commentary
  • Professor Nader’s comments and clarifications
  • Questions from the audience

The Bhagavad-Gītā is the Light of Life, lit by God at the altar of man, to save humanity from the darkness of ignorance and suffering. It is a scripture which outlives time, and can be acknowledged as indispensable to the life of any man in any age.
—Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, 1963
