How did you get to MUM?
Well, I was working as a companion care provider in Minneapolis. I knew that once I turned 24 I would qualify for adequate financial aid assistance to go back to school fulltime. So, I got online and Googled Sustainable Living. I knew that’s what I wanted to do- I just didn’t know there was a school for it. Two schools came up; one was in California and the other was MUM. MUM seemed more established and better developed. Also, it offered a vegetarian lifestyle and emphasis on meditation which really appealed to me. I visited in February and was here the following January.
What’s your diet like?
The best it has ever been in my life. I am a vegetarian; I try to eat all organic, local if available, and not a lot of dairy.
What are you interests/hobbies?
My interests include; community development, environmental sustainability, outdoor education, spiral dynamics, psychology and environmental psychology. My hobbies include; journaling, painting, bike riding, meditating, hatha and kundalini yoga, being outside, reading, potlucks, campfires, dancing and shamanistic ritual.
What’s your passion?
My passions include evolution, the ability to grow, life supporting life, learning.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I just did my five year plan so this is a good question! Hopefully in five years I will be an integral part of a non-profit organization, or have founded a non-profit organization, where I can practice outdoor education or environmental psychology. I want to work with people seeking a deeper, healing connection with their environment. I’d like to reintroduce them to their biological community on a deeper, energetic or soul level and heal their relationship with nature.
Also I want to be a homesteader. I want to take care of some land, start a market garden and/or CSA, and have community involvement. Maybe care for some honey bees and permaculture guilds.

Besides meditation, what do you do to relax?
Yoga, I eat well, I take care of myself and get a lot of sleep and I always take time to do things I enjoy like make cards for people, artwork, take walks and hang out with friends.
