Two years ago, Alex was featured in the MIU Alumni Profiles, but it looks like he’s done a lot since then. About a year ago, Alex sold his share of ownership of iPhone Life magazine to his partners (who are also MIU alumni), and suddenly found himself in a very privileged position: no wife, no kids, and no job responsibilities!
Alex had long dreamed of traveling around the world, so he went for it. He visited 13 countries across four continents: Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Kenya, Greece, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, and Peru (in that order). He says the trip was very ambitious, but amazing!
As he traveled, Alex made a video called “High-Five Around the World” that was shared all over the web. When Alex returned to the States, he moved to sunny Austin, Texas. About a month ago, he started working for Cisco as a Marketing Executive for one of their innovation teams, promoting new technologies within Cisco before they become mainstream products. Alex says this is his first experience working for a Fortune 100 company, and he’s excited to learn how the big players operate.
Check out Alex’s blog. His latest post includes photos of everything he packed for his world tour!
