Business Students Attend Fairfield Entrepreneurs Association Awards Reception

The Fairfield Entrepreneurs Association held its annual awards reception on January 28th. This year’s event was especially significant, as 2016 marked the non profit’s 50^th anniversary. While the FEA support all types of entrepreneurship, this year they decided to pay a special tribute to the intersection between art and entrepreneurship in Fairfield.
Tim Hawthorne, the founder of Hawthorne Direct, was inducted into the Fairfield Entrepreneur Hall of Fame. Tim is a long-term meditator and teacher of Transcendental Meditation. Over its 30 year span, his company has served many businesses by “combining persuasive brand messaging with proprietary analytic systems to create and deliver highly accountable and hugely successful integrated advertising campaigns.” Watch the video below to learn more about Tim Hawthorne and Hawthorne Direct.

The FEA graciously invited MIU College of Business students to attend the event. Every single student from the “Concept to Market” class came to the reception. As budding entrepreneurs, the students were inspired by the success stories of businesses born in Fairfield. One student was so excited that she even exclaimed that she intends for her company to be honored at next year’s award reception. The young business professionals enjoyed mingling with the honorees, asking for advice, and sharing business ideas.
