MUM student Cheyanne Holliday has been running a non-profit organization called P.E.A.C.E. since 2017. P.E.A.C.E. stands for Promoting Equality, Acceptance, and Compassion Everywhere. The PEACE organization, currently run in Fairfield, is made of current MUM students and alums who Cheyenne describes as “Motivated to liberate all exploited, enslaved and oppressed beings through acts of love, kindness, and compassion.”
PEACE is currently doing agriculture and animal activist work around Iowa, and one of their goals is to raise enough money to purchase a CAFO, create a sanctuary out of it, and then develop it into an eco friendly community. PEACE has just signed a lease for an office space near the Fairfield square (pictured bottom left) and is looking to start a hotline so people can call and ask questions about veganism and assistance-based information for the Fairfield community.
“The ultimate goal of PEACE is to transform the global culture of violence into a sanctuary of peace,” says Cheyenne, “We believe that all beings deserve to be treated with the love that they are.” PEACE also has chapters in Washington, Oregon and Alaska are looking to expand. They will also be having a reality YouTube series called “The Helpline” filmed from their office.
