MBA graduates are in high demand. A recent BBC article on the currently “bullish” market for graduating MBAs proclaimed this the “best market in years” for MBAs seeking employment. “It’s going to be a (graduating) students’ market for the next 15-plus years,” Steve Schroeder, assistant dean at the University of Wisconsin’s School of Business, said in the article. Further illustrating the high market value of different MBA specializations, a report issued earlier this year by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) listed Business Administration/management, Management Information Systems (MIS), and Accounting among the top six most highly-paid business majors at the master’s level. Maharishi International University (MIU) offers an MBA degree in various formats with specializations in Accounting and Sustainable Business, and an online graduate certificate in MIS.

But if it’s no secret that companies today need MBAs, what is still a secret is the untapped reserve of highly-qualified MBA candidates at MIU, a source of talent yet undiscovered by most national and international corporations. Employers who have hired MIU MBAs marvel at the quality of MIU candidates—as one Washington D.C. employer told Dr. Andrew Bargerstock, director of MBA Programs at MIU: “I don’t know what you’re doing there, but keep doing it!”

2008_12_12_photo03_CPTWhat distinguishes MIU’s MBA program is its unique educational approach—called Consciousness-Based education—and the personal, academic, and professional success it engenders. For instance, in each of the past five years MIU has had MBA teams place in the top 10 in the international CAPSIM Foundation business simulation competition. One advantage that MIU’s teams have in this business competition is their practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique, an element of Consciousness-Based education that develops collaborative teamwork and broad comprehension along with the ability to focus sharply—valuable skills for making sound business decisions. With respect to quality of life, watch Naya Raj Baral, MIU MBA graduate and CFO at Maharishi Ayurveda Products International, describe what he gained from his educational experience at MIU.

MIU’s MBA in Accounting is offered in two formats: a daytime program that can be completed in as few as 11 months, and an MBA for Accounting Professionals that combines 7 months of on-campus study with 2-3 years of curricular practical training (CPT) at a U.S. company.

Madhava Martin was born in Kansas City, moved to Fairfield when he was nine, and grew up practicing Transcendental Meditation. He attended college at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, where he double majored in Creative Writing and Philosophy. He graduated in May and is now back in Fairfield, living with his family and working at MIU.
