Dimitrios Karasis — Yogic Flying World Champion
Dimitrios Karasis is not only an academically accomplished MUM student — he is a Yogic Flying® world champion. He came to MUM from Greece because he wanted to study at a university where he could learn and practice the TM-Sidhi® program in a large group.
His interest in enlightenment and Maharishi’s knowledge inspired Dimitrios to double major in Maharishi Vedic ScienceSM and physiology and health. He graduated in 2016 with an Outstanding Student Award from the Department of Physiology and Health. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Maharishi Vedic Science.
After learning the TM-Sidhi program, including Yogic Flying, Dimitrios became so passionate about it that he joined MUM’s Ultimate Flying Club and helped revive the tradition of Yogic Flying competitions. He helped organize the first competition at MUM in 2013, after a decade of hiatus, and established an annual tradition. In 2016 he organized the first International Yogic Flying Competition in decades. The contest took place in Holland, and Dimitrios earned three medals, two gold and one silver.
Dimitrios also participates in Yogic Flying demonstrations. “The goal is to inspire people to learn the TM-Sidhi program,” he said. “People experience the coherence even though they are only watching. This is the most powerful technique to create peace and transform society.”
In addition, Dimitrios heads the Yogic Flying branch of Enlightened Leadership International (ELI), the organization for the next generation of leaders in the TM® organization. Most recently, Dimitrios was appointed director of Invincible Defense Technology by the Global Country of World Peace. His role is to promote the invincibility of every nation through the TM-Sidhi program.
As part of his studies, Dimitrios is currently working with faculty member Ken Chandler on the translation of Professor Chandler’s book about the influence of Vedic knowledge on the ancient civilization of Greece. After completing his master’s degree, Dimitrios plans to pursue a PhD in Maharishi Vedic Science and become a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation® technique.
“Dimitrios is a bright young mind who is devoted to the highest ideals of Maharishi’s organization,” said Professor Chandler. “He has the energy and intelligence to accomplish great things for the world.”
