Andrew Rushing: Connecting with TM Practitioners Around the World

Andrew Rushing hails from Kansas City, Missouri, and he came to MIU because he was interested in Indian philosophy. While searching the Internet he came across a Unified Field Chart, which intrigued him so much that he decided to study Maharishi Vedic Science.

Although Andrew was interested in the philosophical aspect of Maharishi Vedic Science, he was more than pleased once he learned the experiential part, the Transcendental Meditation technique. He jumped at the first opportunity to complete the TM-Sidhi program.

“Maharishi Vedic Science is awesome because it complements and enhances the inner experience of the TM and TM-Sidhi programs, including Yogic Flying,” said Andrew. “You learn about the secrets of the universe in the classroom and then verify them through your own experience in meditation. I can’t imagine a more profound and worthwhile field of study.”

Andrew also joined the Enlightened Leadership Program and helped organize the 2014 Next Generation course at MIU with 124 international participants. He enjoys connecting with fellow young practitioners of the TM technique, and he attended all five Enlightened Leadership International (ELI) summits, three in Holland and two in Turkey.

Andrew also started a new branch of ELI, ELI Purusha, to connect with the Maharishi Purusha Program, an international organization of single men who dedicate their lives to practicing the TM-Sidhi program. He organized the first annual 10-day ELI Purusha course in West Virginia last July, where attendees enjoyed extended practice of the TM-Sidhi program and explored the woods and waters of the beautiful Appalachian Mountains.

In his free time, Andrew works on the Maharishi Patanjali Golden Dome security team and helps update old tapes at the MIU tape library. Andrew is graduating this June and plans to attend the upcoming TM Teacher Training Course in Bali.
