Recommendation
Request one recommendation from someone who can attest to your academic or professional performance. The recommendation should come from a current or former teacher or workplace supervisor. Other recommendations can be considered on a case-by-case basis. Send your recommender the link to our recommendation form, and they will submit it directly back to us.
Transcripts
Request that official transcripts from your bachelor’s degree program be submitted to Maharishi International University. Transcripts must come directly to us from the institutions attended. Transcripts can be sent electronically to admisdoc@miu.edu. Paper copies should be mailed to the address below. Official transcripts sent by mail must be delivered to us in a sealed envelope; official transcripts sent by email must be password protected.

Essay
- Read the two sections (3 pages) in The Science of Being and Art of Living by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi What is Being? and Being is the Essential Constituent of Creation. We recommend that applicants purchase the book, available in softcover at MIU Press and in ebook at Amazon, but you may also view and download the relevant pages.
- In 700-800 words, respond to the following: “Discuss Maharishi’s description of the nature of Being as the essential constituent of creation.” This should be double-spaced in Times New Roman 12 pt font.
- Please email your essay directly to your admissions counselor.

Before your first class
All MIU students practice the Transcendental Meditation® technique. If you have not learned it yet:
- Once accepted as a student for entry in 2022, you can learn TM at no charge because the course fee is included in your MIU tuition
- Learn the TM technique before arrival
- Contact your admissions counselor for details
- Find information on the TM technique or search for a TM teacher at TM.org
