After submitting your application, please send us immediately the official transcripts and diplomas from all colleges, universities, and accredited institutes that you have attended.
Official transcripts and diplomas consist of documentation sent directly from the institution attended and should bear the original stamp, seal and signature of a school official. If original documentation cannot be obtained directly from the school, either a true copy of the original from the institution or an attested copy will be sufficient as “official” documentation.
In all cases, the documentation must be sealed and signed by the institution verifying the information and sent directly from the school or attesting service bearing the stamp, seal and signature required.
We need to receive the official transcripts in order to issue and send you your I-20. Your I-20 won’t be issued if the transcripts haven’t been received, so please arrange this promptly to avoid any delay in processing.
Important: All transcripts or diplomas that are not in English must be accompanied by an official translation into English.

You are not required to take the SAT, ACT, GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) or GRE (Graduate Record Examinations); however, if you have taken any of these tests, please e-mail the scanned official documents to your admissions counselor.
Please note that although these tests are not a standard requirement for admission, depending on our evaluation of your application your Admissions Counselor may require any of these tests for admission to MUM.
The purpose of the telephone interview with the MBA Accounting Professionals Program office is to evaluate your proficiency with double-entry accounting according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as practiced in the U.S.
Applicants who cannot demonstrate sufficient competency in this interview will be denied or deferred to a future entry. You will be responsible for alerting your admissions counselor when you are prepared for this interview.
Your proficiency in double-entry bookkeeping will be tested, including adjusting and closing journal entries according to U.S.-GAAP. Also, you will be asked questions about the differences in accounting for perpetual and periodic inventory systems. To prepare properly for this interview, you may need to study (or review) the American system of double-entry bookkeeping. One of the best textbooks for financial and managerial accounting (and one which we use at Maharishi University of Management) is:

Any edition of this textbook will be good, but the 12th edition is preferred. Used copies can be purchased through www.amazon.com or www.halfprice.com. It is a book you will want to bring with you to the U.S. If you cannot obtain the recommended text, and do not already have an American text, you should contact your local lending library to borrow a copy of an American financial accounting text. Please note that a UK text will not suffice.
All entering MBA students are expected to know the basics of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint software programs. In addition, applicants are encouraged to learn a computerized accounting system, such as Peachtree or QuickBooks, which are widely used in the U.S.
