Living Soils Course
Restore the Soil, Renew the World
It’s time to go beyond conventional, beyond organic and far beyond sustainable agricultural practices and propel ourselves forward to create growing systems that regenerate our planet.
Lace up your boots, bring your gloves, and don’t forget your notebook when you join us for this 3.5 week soil health intensive.
Healthy soil stores massive amounts of carbon, filters water, feeds plants, and replaces vital nutrients into our ecosystem. Healthy soil means a healthy planet.
What do increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, dead zones in the ocean, polluted waterways, soil erosion, and low-nutrient-containing foods have in common? They are all results of poor agriculture practices and the poor soil they have created.
It’s time to work with the environment instead of against it. By helping the soil, you will help create a healthier, more sustainable world.
The foundation of the course is built on the combination of three regenerative agricultural tools: organic matter building, mineral balancing, and soil food web methodologies.
Topics you’ll study in our course include:
- How to build soil, create biological inoculums, apply biology to growing systems and analyze life in soil and biological products through bright field microscopy
- The basics of creating soil armor to stabilize soil and feed soil organisms
- Principles of balancing calcium and magnesium, as well as addressing mineral excesses in soils
The course also includes an emphasis on the expressions of intelligence, order, and integration found at different levels of biological organization.
Our course goes beyond classroom learning and integrates hands-on projects. You’ll leave with the experience you need to apply the knowledge in our own life.
- Building compost
- Creating composts teas and extracts
- Assessing biology through microscopy
- Site assessments and appropriate applications of composts
- Creating liquid composts and mineral amendment

As part of the Living Soil course you’ll practice the Transcendental Meditation technique daily. This evidence-based technique has been proven to have mental, physiological, behavioral, and physical benefits that enable you to learn more efficiently and effectively.
The TM technique allows your active mind to easily settle inward, through quieter levels of thought, until you experience the most silent and peaceful level of your own awareness.
