Developing Mathematical Insight
Doing mathematics successfully includes both intellectual analysis and intuitive insight. Modern educational practices in mathematics have been reasonably successful in developing intellectual understanding, but have largely left the development of intuitive insight to chance.
Practice of Transcendental Meditation has been found to develop creativity, clear thinking, health, and vitality. It develops the ability to let the mind settle down and experience the quiet inner wholeness that is essential to grasping a mathematical concept or solving a problem.
