Find interns at MIU

At MIU, our unique Consciousness-BasedSM education enables our students to be more tuned-in to their environment, ready to learn quickly, solve problems, and communicate effectively. An emphasis on self-development means that we focus on developing the whole student. This means that our students are not only knowledgeable in their subject area, but also more prepared to function, adapt, and maintain a sense of inner calm in new situations.

Whether you’re ready to create an internship or already have one to offer, we’re happy to help you make your internship application available to our students. Get in touch by filling out the form!

FAQ

Hosting an intern gives employers access to fresh thinking and creates possibilities for tested and trained future hires. In addition to helping build the workforce of tomorrow, your current staff can benefit from the leadership and mentoring opportunities that come with internships.
Usually, employers look for an intern three to six months ahead of the start date. Very competitive organizations may complete the recruitment process six to eighteen months in advance. Students must submit their completed internship proposal at least a month prior to their start date.
Generally, interns need more structure than traditional employees, and that can take planning ahead. Check the Internship Handbook for Employers for more specific details.
If your organization is in Iowa, there may be financial help! Check the Employer Handbook for more information on this topic. If you are not in Iowa, check to see if there are statewide programs to help defray costs.
Base your taskings on the objectives of the internship, and the aptitude your intern already has—some examples for a marketing internship are listed below:

    1. Conduct market research & analysis on trends, competitors and audience.
    2. Assist in creating content like blogs, social media posts, and email newsletters.
    3. Help execute social media strategies, content planning, scheduling, and community engagement.
