Travel scholarships

U.S. prospective students with financial need can request a travel scholarship of up to $350 to attend a Visitors Weekend. Call us at 800-369-6480 for details. The David Lynch Foundation provides the funding for travel scholarships.

To be eligible for the travel scholarship, prospective students need to attend all meetings, complete and submit the Visitor Evaluation form, and have a short exit interview with an admissions counselor.

Lodging

Prospective students and their parents receive free lodging at the Fairfield Super 8 or Best Western at our expense. Due to increasing student enrollments at the University, campus housing is not available for visitors.

• Cedar Rapids (CID) — 1.5 hours from Fairfield
• Des Moines (DSM) — two hours from Fairfield
• Quad Cities (MLI) — two hours from Fairfield

Airport shuttles

You can reserve a University shuttle for travel between Fairfield and nearby airports, train stations, and bus stations. To allow adequate time for us to arrange your shuttle, we recommend that your reservation be made at least 3 days before your arrival.

The nearest Amtrak stations are:

• arriving from the east — Mt. Pleasant, Iowa (22 miles from Fairfield)
• arriving from the west — Ottumwa, Iowa (26 miles from Fairfield)
