Costs

There is a nominal charge of $10 to partially cover our costs for each visitor. If you are unable to come after registering, please cancel by noon CST on the Wednesday before your Visitors Weekend begins and you will receive a full refund. April 25–28 is a special Visitors Weekend hosted by filmmaker David Lynch and has different costs.

Travel

Note that travel scholarships of up to $350 are available for prospective students with financial need, with the scholarship amount determined by the travel distance. To be eligible for the travel scholarship, prospective students need to attend all meetings, complete and submit the Visitor Evaluation form, and have a short exit interview with an admissions counselor.

You can reserve a University shuttle at discounted rates for travel between Fairfield and nearby airports, train stations, and bus stations. To allow adequate time for us to arrange your shuttle, we recommend that your reservation be made at least 3 days before your arrival.

Automobile: If you plan to drive to campus, please see driving directions to the University.

Air Travel: The University provides discounted rates for ground transportation for visitors using the Cedar Rapids airport (recommended; 1 hour and 20 minutes drive to Fairfield), the Des Moines airport (2 hours), or the Quad Cities airport (2 hours).

Train (Amtrak): The nearest station for trains arriving from the east is Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; from the west, Ottumwa, Iowa.

Bus: Burlington Trailways provides service to Fairfield from locations in the Midwest.
