MVS 331/332 (undergraduate) or MVS 531/532 (graduate)
These 2-credit courses are jointly offered by Maharishi University of Management and authorized Transcendental Meditation® centers throughout the USA except in the state of California. The Transcendental Meditation centers provide the personal instruction, and the University provides the distance education components, including videotaped lectures.
What are the courses’ content?
MVS 331 (undergraduate) and MVS 531 (graduate) Transcendental Meditation-Sidhi Course: Learning to Harness Total Natural Law to Work for You and Fulfill Your Desires, Part I (In-Center Portion of CIC)
The TM-Sidhi program is a natural extension of the Transcendental Meditation program and may be learned after two months of regular practice of the TM technique. The TM technique opens the awareness to Transcendental Consciousness, which is the basis of everyone's awareness. The TM-Sidhi program cultures the ability to think and act from this level. This course includes instruction in the TM-Sidhi techniques and group knowledge, experience meetings, and two advanced lectures using a Maharishi University of Management DVD (2 units for each part). Prerequisites: a record of good mental and physical health, completion of the TM-Sidhi course application, and acceptance by the TM-Sidhi program directors.
MVS 332 (undergraduate) and MVS 532 (graduate) Transcendental Meditation-Sidhi Course: Learning to Harness Total Natural Law to Work for You and Fulfill Your Desires, Part II (Flying Block Portion of CIC)
The TM-Sidhi program is a natural extension of the Transcendental Meditation program and may be learned after two months of regular practice of the TM technique. The TM technique opens the awareness to Transcendental Consciousness, which is the basis of everyone's awareness. The TM-Sidhi program cultures the ability to think and act from this level. This course includes instruction in the TM-Sidhi techniques and group knowledge and experience meetings. (2 units for each part.) Prerequisites: a record of good mental and physical health, completion of the TM-Sidhi course application, acceptance by the TM-Sidhi program directors, and completion of MVS 331.
Who can take these courses?
These jointly-sponsored courses are open to everyone who has applied for a CIC (Center Invicibility Course) at their local Maharishi Enlightenment Center or Peace Palace and have been accepted for the local CIC course by the TM-Sidhi program directors, except those in the state of California. Course participants will be special students at the University in this credit-bearing, non-degree course.
What is the tuition of these courses?
Please inquire at your local Maharishi Enlightenment Center. The course tuition is payable in full before the course begins.
What financial aid is available?
Most course participants — even if they're not currently enrolled in college — are eligible for private educational loans that fully cover the course tuition. More about financial aid
The minimum age for CitiAssist is 16 years. Other eligibility criteria:
- Satisfactory credit history, which includes at least 12 months of borrowing, charging and repaying
- No prior bankruptcies
- No liens, judgements, charge-offs, excessive 30, 60 or 90-day delinquencies on any loans or revolving charge accounts, etc.
- Verifiable income of at least $18,000 per year
- Debt-to-income ratio less than 45%
- Co-signer if age 16 or 17 or don’t meet the credit requirements as noted above
Undergraduate students currently enrolled at other colleges will normally need a co-signer — however, they can seek federal aid (without a co-signer) through their own college if they arrange transfer credit. Graduate students do not need a co-signer.

How do I apply for financial aid through the CitiAssist program?
You should complete the online CitiAssist application right away, using the following instructions:
- Go to http://citiassist.com
- Click on “Apply & Sign for a Loan”
- Click on “CitiAssist Graduate / Undergraduate Loan”
- Follow the online instructions. New users can register in the upper right area of the page.
- After registering, you will be asked to specify the school. For state, select “IA” (for Iowa) in the drop-down menu, and enter “Maha” in the text box below it. Next select “undergraduate” or “graduate” in the drop-down menu. Then click the “Search” button. Maharishi University of Management will appear in the search results.
- For Grade Level, enter “1st Year” unless another answer applies to you, and then click the “Continue” button.
- Proceed as directed. Important: On the question “Loan Period for Use of Funds” the “Begin” date is when you expect to start the course, and the “End” date is 3 months later.
- If you have questions about the application process, call CitiAssist at 800-967-2400 Monday–Friday 8:00am to 11:00pm (Eastern time).
- As soon as you have submitted the online CitiAssist application, you should complete the Admission Form. If you complete the printable PDF form, please give it to the Transcendental Meditation center, who will complete the bottom portion and send it in.
Once I apply for CitiAssist, how long does it take for the loan to be finalized?
You will typically receive a response within minutes. The University will normally receive the tuition payment from CitiAssist within 1-2 weeks from the time you submit your application.
What other options are available for tuition payment?
You can pay the course tuition directly to the Transcendental Meditation center where you take the course. The center will inform you of the methods available for paying the tuition.
What is the withdrawal policy for these courses?
Tuition refunds are not available after the course participant has received personal instruction.
What's the difference between the undergraduate and graduate versions of these courses?
The course content is exactly the same for both versions. The undergraduate courses (MVS 331/332) are open to everyone who does not have an undergraduate degree. Adults, high school students, and undergraduate students at other colleges are all eligible to take the undergraduate courses. The graduate courses (MVS 531/532) are open to everyone who has received an undergraduate degree.
If I'm currently enrolled at another college or university, can I transfer the course credits to my school?
Many colleges and universities will accept the credits for these courses. You should contact the Registrar's office at your school to arrange transfer credit. If you need assistance regarding transfer credit, you can also contact Maharishi University’s Office of the Registrar at 641-472-1144.
If I transfer the credits to my college or university, can I receive financial aid for that course from my school's financial aid office?
The Financial Aid office at many colleges will permit you to use your federal loan eligibility to pay the tuition on courses accepted for transfer credit. Please check with a financial aid counselor at your school.
