Fairfield, Ia. MUM's executive vice-president, Craig Pearson, PhD, was in South Africa when news of Nelson Mandela's passing was released.
“It has been a very moving experience to be in South Africa at this time,” Dr. Pearson said. “I am staying just five blocks from Mr. Mandela’s house. People by the thousands have been coming to streets outside his house ever since the announcement about his passing — people of every color and every age.
All day long there has been singing outside his home in celebration of his extraordinary life. People have left a mountain of flowers along with candles and beautiful written messages.
Mr. Mandela’s achievement in bringing freedom, unity, and harmony to his country is truly historic, one of the greatest stories of the past century.”
Dr. Pearson was there to speak to the first graduating class of the Maharishi Invincibility Institute in Johannesburg, which was founded in 2006, as well as to the graduating class of managers at the Neotel corporation, the second largest telecommunications firm in South Africa, who are receiving MBA degrees from Maharishi University of Management.
