A Quick History of our Department
Founded just seven years ago, the program has expanded from 12 students in the major in its first year to 70 declared majors at present. Our courses are also popular with students from other majors, including Art, Sustainable Living, and Business.
A number of our Media and Communication courses were originally taught in the Art Department. But, as the Internet demand for Websites and videos increased, the Media and Communications Department became an independent department in 2008. We now have five full-time faculty and several part-time faculty experienced in the different aspects of this ever-growing, ever-changing field.
Based on our rapid success at the undergraduate level, we are encouraged to launch a graduate degree program beginning with the 2013–2014 school year.
