Editing Unified Field Charts in Freehand
Printing, Sending to the Plotter
Printing
Usually, you should just send the Unified Field Chart to the plotter. However, you may want to print it out to review it, but remember that it will be unreadable when scaled down. To print, in the Scale section of the Print dialog box, choose Fit on Paper to scale the chart down to an 8-1/2x11 sheet of paper.
Sending to the Plotter
If you will be emailing your charts to the plotter over a modem line or copying it to a diskette, create them without the picture of Maharishi and the plotter operator will add the picture for you. The reason for this is that the picture makes the chart file so big that it takes a long time to send at modem speeds and is too large to fit on a floppy diskette.
We prefer that you email us your charts as attachments to an email message. Send the message to plotter@mum.edu. It's best to use a POP account based email program such as Eudora or Outlook Express as most web based email programs (such as HotMail and Yahoo) are not compatible for this purpose. Please provide us with the following information in your email message:
- your name,
- your department,
- your location,
- your phone number and email address
- when you need the charts by
- whether you used a PC or a Mac, your operating system version, and the version of Word or Freehand (so we can troubleshoot problems)
Please do not expect the charts to be done instantly. The charts take time to print and many others may be ahead of you, especially near the beginning of a new term. As of now, we have a study-work student, who works afternoons and a few hours on Saturday. This student will send you an email when the chart is finished.
You can also bring a disk to Information Systems, in Room 29. The receptionist has a form for you to fill out, providing us with the instructions we need. Click here to download the form now. (You can then print and complete the form in advance.) Don't expect service while you wait; others may be ahead of you in the print queue. You can bring the charts on a high-density floppy disk (Mac or PC) as long as the picture of Maharishi is not included on the chart or on a Mac formatted Zip disk.
