Editing Unified Field Charts in Freehand

Installing the Fonts (Shep)

You need to install the fonts (Shep regular, bold, italic, and bold italic). These special fonts allow you to type characters with diacritical marks for Sanskrit. Otherwise, they are like Times New Roman. Please use only these fonts for the Unified Field Charts. Here's how to install them:

For the PC:

  1. Use PKZIP or WinZip to decompress the fonts if you downloaded or received them in zipped (compressed) format.
  2. Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel.
  3. Double-click Fonts in the Control Panel.
  4. Choose File > Install New Fonts.
  5. In the Add Fonts dialog box, choose the drive and folder containing the font files. (The font files end with .ttf.) There are four fonts (Shep Bold, Shep Bold Italic, Shep Italic, and Shep Regular).
  6. Click Select All or select the four fonts.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Close the Fonts window and the Control Panel.

For the Mac:

  1. Use Stuffit Expander to decompress the font file if you downloaded or received them in compressed format. The fonts decompress into a font folder.
  2. Open your hard drive.
  3. Open the System folder.
  4. Open the font folder you decompressed
  5. Drag the font file to the Fonts folder inside the System folder. You should see a message saying that the font will not be available to currently open applications. (Just close them and open them again to use the font.)
