Using Eudora Light for E-mail
Using Drafts
You can create a Drafts mailbox where you can store works in-progress. If you are working on a long e-mail and can't finish it when you need to leave, choose File > Save and Eudora Light places the e-mail in the Out mailbox, with a dot in the first column. Close the message and double-click the Out mailbox. Then drag the e-mail you just created to your Drafts mailbox.
You can use the Drafts folder to create form letters or templates. Create the e-mail you want and choose File > Save. Place it in your Drafts mailbox. When you want to use the e-mail as a template, follow these steps. They're a little round-about, but they work.
For the PC:
- Double-click the Drafts mailbox in the left Folders pane.
- Press Ctrl and drag the e-mail form letter to any other mailbox. This duplicates it.
- Double-click the mailbox where you copied the email.
- Drag the copy of the e-mail form letter back to the Drafts mailbox.
- Open one of them and complete it by adding the To information, etc. Then send it.
As long as you always make a copy of the e-mail before using it, you'll always have the original in the Drafts folder to use again.
For the Mac:
- Select the message you want to copy (or open it).
- Press and hold down the Option key.
- From the menu, choose Transfer and then choose any other mailbox. Release the Option key. This duplicates the message.
- Select the copy of the message and choose Transfer from the menu. Choose the Drafts mailbox. You now have two copies of the message in the Drafts mailbox.
- Open one of them and complete it by adding the To information, etc. Then send it.
As long as you always make a copy of the e-mail before using it, you'll always have the original in the Drafts folder to use again.
