Using Outlook Express for E-mail
Using Drafts
Outlook Express has a Drafts folder where you can store works in-progress. If you are working on a long e-mail and can't finish it when you need to leave, choose File > Save and Outlook Express places the e-mail in the Drafts folder. The next day, you can open it and continue working on it like any e-mail message.
You can use the Drafts folder to create form letters or templates. Create the e-mail you want and choose File > Save. When you want to use the e-mail as a template, follow these steps:
For the PC:
- Click the Drafts folder in the left Folders pane.
- Right-click the e-mail you want to use.
- Choose Copy to Folder, choose the Drafts folder, and
- Click OK. You now have two identical e-mails.
- Open one of them and complete it by adding the To information, etc. Then send it.
As long as you always make a copy of the e-mail before using it, you'll always have the original in the Drafts folder to use again.
For the Mac:
- Click the Drafts folder in the left Folders pane.
- Click the e-mail you want to use.
- Press Option and drag the message to the Drafts folder. You now have two identical e-mails.
- Open one of them and complete it by adding the To information, etc. Then send it.
As long as you always make a copy of the e-mail before using it, you'll always have the original in the Drafts folder to use again.
