Dialing Up to the Internet Through M.U.M.
Setting Dial-Up Adapter Properties
The default settings for the Dial-Up Adapter should be correct. However, it is good to check them anyway.
- From the previous procedure, the Network dialog box should be
open. If not, open it by choosing Start > Settings > Control
Panel and double-clicking the Network icon.
- Click Dial-Up Adapter and click Properties.
- On the Driver Type tab, there should be a dot next to Enhanced
Mode (32 bit and 16 bit) NDIS Driver.
- On the Bindings tab, there should be a check next to TCP/IP.
There should be no other items on the list (unless you are also
connecting via a network).
- On the Advanced tab Record a Log File should be set to No.
(You can change this to Yes if you want to log your dial-up
activities.) Use IPX header compression should be set to Yes (No
for Windows 95). IP Packet Size should be set to Automatic (This
setting doesn't exist in Windows 95). You should have other
properties only if you are also connecting via a network.
- Click OK to return to the Network dialog box.
