Computer "No-No's"
- Don't turn the computer off while you have any program open.
Always close all programs, and then shut down your computer

- On a PC, never remove a diskette from the floppy disk drive or
a CD from the CD ROM drive when the light is on. Always wait until
the light is off. On a Mac, drag the diskette to the Trash icon to
remove it or choose Special > Eject or press Command

- Never turn a computer off and on without waiting at least 60
seconds.
- Never use a magnet around a computer, monitor, or diskette.
Note that telephones contain magnets.
- Never force a diskette, ZIP disk, or CD-ROM into the
drive.
- No food or drink should be near the computer.
- Turn the computer off before connecting new hardware, except
for "hot-pluggable" devices that specifically say you can plug
them in while the computer is on.
