MSCS Graduate Comments

The courses I took here were quite current with everything that was on the market. The teachers really care about the students. I love the way they stay up with the most recent tendencies of the market. They dig quite a lot into material that is not yet in the books and introduce us to the most recent developing tools. That was really helpful for everyone. We were very well prepared.

The first four courses I took on campus were really valuable for me. What I learned here was a huge part of what I am doing right now, and I had the chance to master it while on the job during the practical training portion of my studies. This is not just a computer course where you get a degree. It's a course where you get to grow and use your skills professionally. It's a very good preparation.

Getting placed in curricular practical training
Many students from my class and I consider ourselves lucky because it was relatively easy to find a job for our curricular practical training. We were getting plenty of offers at that time. The University was very helpful in that sense. They got companies to look into us, and our resumes.

Fortunately the market is coming up now again. New students should be encouraged by that. After those two or three years of downfall, the economy is picking up, and there are more developers needed. I think it's a good sign.

The University gives a lot of possibilities. To be presented with material that is so current, and, while studying, to be able to get on-the-job experience in a U.S. company—this doesn't happen everywhere. You need a lot of help, and the University offers a lot of assistance. We are even able to get loan support. I am very thankful.

About the university community
I made friends here and that was a big support for me. Fairfield is a very nice community. People here are very friendly. They are always ready to help—faculty, administrators, everyone. I suppose it's because people come from all over the world here and they have gone through everything themselves that newcomers face.
