Academic Schedule
The program typically takes approximately 2½ years to complete. The first half-year (~7.5 - 8.5 months) is in residence on campus taking full-time coursework. After this students begin the practicum phase (up to 2 years), where you continue your studies part-time while gaining experience in a technical professional position. This gives you further professional technical experience while applying the knowledge from your courses. Students generally have 4 courses of distance-education studies to complete the program (which takes 16-20 months).
All students begin with the Science of Creative Intelligence course. This course presents the nature, range, qualities, and principles of creative intelligence, and its practical application in the Transcendental Meditation Technique. Because Computer Science, like all other disciplines, is based in the intellectual understanding and experience of the laws of Nature, the general principles brought out in this course provide a unifying theme for all of the more specific principles studied in all other courses in the curriculum.
For students in the direct entry track, this is followed by a course in Modern Programming Practices (MPP). Preparatory track students first take the Fundamentals of Programming Practices (FPP) course, and then enter the same MPP track. Please see http://mum.edu/compro/entrytracks.html for more information on these two tracks.
The following table shows the schedule for each entry track. Please note that this schedule is subject to change at any time.
