Practical Training Opportunities on the Rise
Recently a prospective student sent us a question asking, “What are the chances of getting a practical training job in the US when so many of its IT jobs are outsourced overseas?”
Here is how we answered:
When companies outsource their low-end work, it frees employees to concentrate on streamlining other aspects of their business. According to a recent report, savings from outsourcing will allow US companies to create 317,000 new jobs in 2008. (See http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/invest/extra/P79592.asp)
Our students find jobs in the US quite easily. Two-thirds of the most recent group of students found practical training positions within a month of starting their search. Starting salaries average $63,000 per year. Students often get substantial raises after a few months on the job.
