Professor publishes technical paper
Adjunct Assistant Professor Ali Arsanjani, Ph.D., published a paper recently entitled, “Toward a Pattern Language for Service-oriented Architecture and Integration.” Dr. Arsanjani is Chief Architect of the SOA and Web Services Center of Excellence in IBM Global Services.
In his paper he states, “As the IT industry matures, we will witness the emergence of more and more successful designs and implementations of Service-Oriented Architectures (SOA). We will also encounter challenges that appear to be recurring in slightly different forms but fundamentally have the same underlying problems. We also tend to repeat solutions with slight variations.” His paper presents patterns that have arisen to address this issue.
Dr. Arsanjani recently commented on the value of the Consciousness-Based approach to education at Maharishi Universit of Management:
“If software is going to be more efficient and architectures more robust, then you need the mind of the software architect or developer to be pretty settled, to be free from stress as much as possible, because this is a stressful job. So you need all the relaxation you can get in order to be dynamic. The practice of the Transcendental Meditation program accomplishes this very effectively. It is an extremely valuable tool for the software developer.” |
