Students fulfill demand for IT skills
A recent article on the site, silicon.com, was entitled, “IT skills crisis looms – and outsourcing won’t help.” The article states that there is a growing shortage of properly trained IT professionals and there are limits to the amount of IT responsibilities that can be given to external service providers. “Decisions about security, technical architecture and new technologies need to be made internally by people with high skill levels,” the article states. “These high-level positions require experience and a relevant background.”
The success of Computer Professionals Program students in finding jobs indicates that their training at Maharishi University of Management is fulfilling the needs of U.S. companies. A recruiter based in Seattle recently selected 24 candidates from a popular job site for a programming project with the State of Washington. After interviewing the 24, the top four candidates he selected were all from Maharishi University of Management. “They were all familiar with project management techniques which was a real advantage for this position,” the recruiter reported. Unfortunately for the State of Washington, three of the four students found other jobs (one with Microsoft) before the recruiter could fly them out for interviews. “We would like to collaborate with Maharishi University of Management,” the recruiter said. “Your students have the skills we are looking for.”
