Professor from Google Imparts Workplace Skills
Maharishi University of Management Computer Science Professor, Dr. Paul Corazza, who recently completed a 6-month project at Google, is bringing the skills of today’s workplace to his class. His software engineering students are gaining insights that will give them an edge during their practical training at a US company.
Dr. Corazza took a leave of absence from his teaching duties last year to accept a contract position at Google in Mountain View, California, as a software design engineer. “I did the work that we are training students to do,” Dr. Corazza said. “I answered most of the technical questions they asked me during my interview for the position based on the courses I teach at M.U.M.”
Dr. Corazza's rich experience at Google has given him new insights which he
now regularly shares with students. “The industry has changed,” he said. “The fundamental principles of software coding are the same, but the expectations of design fashion are new. I now have the latest language to bring to students — the latest technology, way of thinking, the way the Internet is used. This will give a great advantage to our students as they enter the workplace.”
Despite a challenging economy, M.U.M. students are finding many jobs are available for bright people with the skills they have gained at the University. |
