University Report Highlights
From the Executive Vice-President

Dear Friend of Maharishi University of Management,

This past year has brought us some fantastic achievements, which are included in an online preview of the 2007/2008 University Report (a printed copy, including the President’s Honor Roll of Giving, will be mailed to you within a few weeks). Highlights include:

Last fall, for the first time, our enrollment surpassed the 1,000 mark — and then last spring rose above 1,200. We currently have 1,246 students.

We reached the goal of 1,050 Maharishi Vedic Pandits that Maharishi had dreamed about for years.

More than 2,100 Yogic Flyers are now doing program every afternoon in the Golden Domes and other locations, with around 2,000 in the mornings — creating an increase in coherence that was plainly visible in the worldwide upsurge of happiness and positivity that accompanied the recent election.

The Invincible America Assembly completed its second year, with participants continuing to report glorious “number one experiences” of Unity Consciousness.

We inaugurated the beautiful Argiro Student Center, which instantly became the hub of campus life.

We have begun construction of the Sustainable Living Center, a building that will be unique in the world, off the grid in every respect, and adhere to the principles of Maharishi Sthapatya Veda® design.

Consciousness-BasedSM education continues to take root worldwide, at all levels, in China, India, throughout Latin America, and elsewhere.

Our Board of Trustees has approved a plan to establish the M.U.M. College of Perfect Health, which will offer a medical degree with specialization in integrative medicine.

Among our many faculty accomplishments are:

  • Maharishi School tennis coach Lawrence Eyre received the 2007 Central Sectional Coach of the year award.
  • Maxwell Rainforth published a meta-analysis in Current Hypertension Reports about the Transcendental Meditation® technique’s superior effectiveness in reducing high blood pressure over other stress-reducing techniques.
  • Jimmy Sinton was awarded a grant from the Iowa Power Fund for his research on making biodiesel fuel from algae.

Please come and visit if you are not already here. The atmosphere here is truly sublime. If you can, take part in the Invincible America Assembly for whatever time you can.

And please give generously to the Annual Fund during our December campaign. We depend on the Annual Fund for so much — for student scholarships, campus maintenance and renovation, faculty and staff support, and much more. It is vital that we maintain the great momentum of progress and growth the University is enjoying, and achieving our Annual Fund goal will make that possible.

Maharishi University of Management would not have come to this great point without your support and the support of so many people like you. On behalf of the faculty, administration, and students, I extend my deep gratitude to all of you.

Jai Guru Dev

Craig Pearson, Executive Vice-President
