Academic Policies
Advising
To assist all students in planning and scheduling their academic programs, several levels of advising are open to all students.
- A graduation advisor in the enrollment center meets with each new student early in the first semester. The student and the graduation advisor go over the student’s transfer credit if applicable and preview the requirements to graduate from MUM. They plan a schedule of courses for the first year and discuss the student’s plans and goals for graduating.
- The graduation advisor will meet with the student on an as-needed basis, and can send the student a degree check, or other pertinent information as requested, by email. The graduation advisor is available on most class days throughout the year to answer questions about classes, policies, and requirements and to help students understand and plan their progress toward meeting their academic goals.
- Each undergraduate major and graduate program provides departmental academic advising on its specific program and the courses within the department.
By using all these resources, students are informed of degree requirements, policies, and options as they are scheduling their courses and progressing toward their degree goals.
