MUM is delighted to have launched the Online Graduate Certificate in Management Information Systems (MIS) in Fall 2013. The program is targeted at developing IT managers, IT executives and business analysts, and is useful for those interested in understanding the use of IT in organizations. “Organizations continue to make a lot of investments in Information Technology, and they need people who understand how to structure the deployments effectively and get a good return on their IT investments,” says Dr. Anil Maheshwari, director of the MIS program.
This 18-credit program is designed for working professionals who can spend 6-8 hours per week, and do typically one 4-credit course per semester. This completely online program offers a flexible mix of managerial and technical courses to round out the students’ development in the MIS field. The program also includes a 2-credit course on Science of Creative Intelligence to help with development of consciousness. There is no need to leave one’s job or home to learn from this completely online program.
Seven students entered the MIS Graduate Certificate program this Fall, bringing diverse experience in IT programming, IT education, IT management, financial aid management, library management, program management, and forensic analysis. Student response has been very favorable: “I really love the MIS program. It enables me to create a balance between my technical skills and my knowledge of business functions and processes,” said a student based in Iowa. A Tennessee student said, “I am really enjoying and learning from this program.”
The Online MIS Graduate Certificate program will take its next group of students in January 2014. Learn more about the program atmum.edu/MISCertificate
