Sustainable Living Community Events Update

Green Bike Tour

MUM students: are you looking for a great time that combines sightseeing, community building, and learning about the sustainability efforts of local communities?

The Get Energized, Iowa!  Green Bike Tour will ride through the four participating towns to see how these small towns are promoting energy conservation and a commitment to bring renewable energy source implementation to their town. The route will take two days with stops in each of the four towns on October 6th and 7th. Tim Dwight (former Hawkeye football and track star, NFL player, and now a leading solar energy advocate in the state) will also be leading the ride. Riders are welcome to join for any or all of the ride.

 Schedule:

October 6: Meet in Dike at 9 am, depart for Hudson at 10am, eat lunch in Hudson and then ride on to the Cedar Falls (arriving around 3pm).

October 7: Meet in Fairbank at 9 am, depart for Readlyn at 10am, eat lunch in Readlyn and then ride on to Waverly (arriving around 3pm).

Interested riders can register by e-mail to Heather Milway (hmilway@iowapolicyproject.org) by Oct 3rd before 2 pm with name of rider(s), date that rider(s) will be biking, and a contact phone number.
