Welcome to the MBA program at MUM. As Director of this program, I am
proud to be associated with this unique, high value-added academic
program. We are dedicated to preparing students for the practical world
of organizational management and entrepreneurial ventures. We embrace
Lean management and sustainable business practices, including Triple
Bottom Line and the Balanced Scorecard. We offer MBA specializations in
sustainable business, accounting, and business process improvement.
When you join our MBA program, you will be prepared to compete
effectively in the job markets and to participate in operational and
strategic management teams as your career develops. Through our
commitment to Consciousness Based Education, you will experience
significant growth in personal creativity and intelligence while

Overview
The MBA program at Maharishi University of Management is a learning
community of faculty and students who see that the deepest purpose of
management is to develop the full potential of every participant in a
business, nonprofit, or government organization. All organizations best
serve their stakeholders by developing the creativity, intelligence,
emotional maturity, and ethical sensitivity of their own employees.
To develop that potential in our students, at the core of our MBA
program is the practice of the most widely researched program for
personal development, the Transcendental Meditation program. Hundreds of
peer-reviewed research studies have documented the effects of the
Transcendental Meditation program on learning ability, academic
achievement, creativity, ego development, health, and interpersonal
behavior. On that foundation, our MBA students learn the foundational subjects
in business (marketing, accounting, finance, operations, human
resources, and business law) and take a specialization. The flagship of
our MBA program is the specialization in sustainable business. In addition, we offer specializations in accounting and business process improvement. Our specialization in management information systems is scheduled to start in 2014.
Our MBA program is available in a variety of formats. Our on-campus
program in Fairfield, Iowa gives students a unique opportunity for
personal development in a community that favors the development of mind,
body and spirit. Our evening-weekend program gives the advantage of living in the Fairfield community to participants who want to get their MBA while working. Our online program offers the advantage of convenience to participants who cannot leave their jobs or travel internationally to MUM. Our MBA for Accounting Professionals
is a unique program for experienced accountants worldwide to come to the
USA for seven months of on-campus study and two years of distance
learning and practicum while working at a full-paying job as an
accountant.
Our Graduate Certificates are 18-credit programs that offer advanced training to MBA graduates. These are available in each of our regular MBA specializations and in lean accounting, an area in which Maharishi University of Management has received special recognition.

Consistent High Rankings in the CAPSIM Foundation Simulation |

Our teams of MBA accounting students have consistently demonstrated high rankings in the CAPSIM
Foundation Simulation, an online business simulation with participating
teams from colleges and universities throughout North America. In the
past three years MUM has had one or more MBA accounting teams that have
placed in the Top 10, competing against some of the best business
schools in North America. The CAPSIM simulation is a popular event among
the accounting students
in Dr. Andrew Bargerstock's accounting classes, where students have the
opportunity to exercise their skills in executive decision-making and
small group dynamics.
Our students' success in the CAPSIM Foundation Simulation validates
the quality of our
students' skills in integrated decision-making. This is especially
notable with respect to the high percentage of international
students with diverse cultural backgrounds in our MBA programs.
And finally, it shows the readiness of our MBAs to compete successfully
in the marketplace. |
