We now offer a collection of basic tutorials created by our Reference Librarian, Martin Schmidt.  They include:

Basic tutorials

  • Library Catalog Tutorial: Basic searches to find books and media in our library catalog. (Under construction)
  • Overview of the MUM Online Databases: How to access our databases with short descriptions.
  • Britannica Online Tutorial: Find overview articles and how to use enhanced Google Web searches.
  • EBSCO Database Tutorial:  Basic searches to retrieve a wide range of full-text academic articles.
  • LexisNexis Tutorial: Basic search strategies to access news, business, legal, and reference information. 
  • NetAdvantage (Standard & Poors) Tutorial: Basic research for public companies.
  • Elsevier’s ScienceDirect: Access top environmental and medical journals. (Under construction)
  • Google Scholar: Basic academic article searches with MUM holding information. (Under construction)
