The 1st Zumbathon for Fibromyalgia in Fairfield, IA will take place on May 10, Fairfield Arts and Convention Center. Zumba Instructors: Leslie Harris, Jason Deprey, and Erica Powless.
Registration begins at 6 pm.

What is Fibromyalgia?
“Fibromyalgia (pronounced fy-bro-my-AL-ja) is a complex chronic pain disorder that affects an estimated 10 million Americans. While it occurs most often in women, it strikes men and children, and all ethnic backgrounds. Proceeds of this event will go to benefit the National Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain Association”, which is a leading organization that provides support, education, research, and advocacy for fibromyalgia and chronic pain conditions."

No experience is necessary to participate in the Zumbathon. This is a family-friendly event open to the public and welcomes all members of the community. Please wear comfortable workout attire with tennis shoes. Bring a towel and water bottle! Most importantly, just remember to have fun!
This Zumbathon is close to the heart of Leslie Harris, one of the Zumba instructors organizing the event, because she was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 6 years ago and credits Zumba as one of the things that helped her regain her life.
